Sustainability
Nearly 80% of American businesses use sustainable materials. What these businesses may not know, however, is that the maintenance of these materials has a far greater impact on the environment than the materials themselves. So, how does the MilliCare carpet maintenance process affect the environment?
Contributes to green building certification
If sustainability is the goal, a non-toxic, dry powder approach to cleaning and maintaining your building’s carpets and textiles can help you get there much more quickly than traditional hot water extraction systems. Dry carpet cleaning technology directly supports three of the six LEED®-EB O&M categories: a reduction of your overall energy use, a significant reduction in water use, and preservation of your building’s materials. Contact us for specific information on MilliCare's LEED® contribution.
Significantly extends the life of your carpet
MilliCare's processes preserve the capital investment you have in the materials that we clean, keeping your carpet and textiles looking newer, longer – and out of a landfill.
Uses environmentally friendly cleaning materials

Our products and processes are designed to have low environmental impact. We use cleaning materials that are non-toxic, low-emitting and biodegradable, but also highly effective.
MilliCare Dry Carpet Cleaner and MilliCare Pre-Mist Concentrate (Version 4), a spot and stain remover, both recently achieved the Green Seal™ environmental standard for industrial and institutional cleaners. This certification is a recognition of the products' reduced human and aquatic toxicity and decreased smog production potential.

Improves indoor air quality
MilliCare’s proprietary carpet cleaning system has been shown to remove up to 99% of the pollutants from your carpet – keeping them from becoming airborne. When used with a properly maintained HVAC system, MilliCare will help keep your air free of the things you don't want to breathe - dust mite allergens, airborne mold and bacteria, VOC's, biological fungi and formaldehyde.
Reduces greenhouse gas emissions and water usage
Our dry carpet cleaning process doesn’t use the large amounts of hot water that other methods require, so we use less fresh water, and make less waste water. Specifically, MilliCare's proprietary dry carpet cleaning process uses 95% less water, 85% less electricity and produces 77% less emissions than hot water extraction methods.
Benefits your facility in many other areas
With the effectiveness of our cleaning process and the improvement to your indoor air quality, you'll see other benefits as well:
